We thought we’d share a recipe with you just in time for your holiday and New Year’s gatherings off of our new winter cocktails menu. This libation includes port and if we may suggest one or two, Knapp Winery or Hunt Country Vineyards are both local options.
Dark and fruity
1 1/2 oz dry gin
1/2 oz lemon or lime juice
1/4 oz Grenadine
3/4 oz of Ruby Port
Shake all together with crushed ice except the port
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and gently float the port on the top
If you want to tweak it a bit, adding grenadine will make it sweeter. Lime makes it more tart. Lemon pops the citrus notes and balances better than the lime for a sweetness profile.
